Follow me @wellputblog and Facebook! Thank you so much for your support:) I am always so excited about setting up Haft Seen( A table setting of Nowruz, the traditional Persian new year), read more about it here. This year even though we won't be in our own house for Tahvil Sal(The moment the sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year and families gather together around the haft seen to observe the rituals.), I decided to do our Haft Seen same as any other year. I really want my kids to remember and hold on to all our beautiful Iranian traditions and eventually one day take it to their own homes, no matter what part of the world they end up living(hopefully right next to our house:)) As far as the décor, I am not very traditional ( actually I'll tell you a secret, I try to avoid using things that you'd see on Haft Seen spreads in most Persian households like those big antique looking silver/gold dishes- if you are Persian, you know what I am talking about, not that they are not nice but it is not me) and like my fashion choices I try to challenge myself by thinking outside the box. This year my Haft Seen décor all started with this big two tiered plant stand that you see in the center of my setting and then I kept adding and taking away some delicate vintage accessories. I am happy with the end result because the juxtaposition of this galvanized industrial container and other vintage pieces give the setting lots of interest and charm. I hope you like it too. I would love to hear from you:) Happy first day of spring to you all, my dear readers. Thank you so much for stopping by! But make sure you come back tomorrow!
